And quite a few things changed since then, as back then .1 and .2 often
only came out once the merge window for the next version had closed.
These days they often get released during the merge window. And they
come out more often if bugs in processors or the kernel itself make it
necessary.



That's why that description doesn't match recent practice anymore. These
days it's afaics more "about three or four weeks after the release of a
new mainline version (if time permits)" (see also the thread mentioned
below). We are not there yet and Justin is quite busy already after
Laura moved on and Jeremy's focus changed recently. So it might take a
bit longer this round and I think that's totally okay.


Side note: Justin afaics even did mainline builds while on PTO – many
thx for that, Justin, much appreciated – but at the same time please
make sure you get your head off from work, that's what holidays are for!
