The kernel doesn't provide this argh - you are right only the way it is loaded has changed in the past and now replace the dat-file and restart "microcode_ctl" does no longer work the same way like in the past - sorry for the noise now notified the right place: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1005585
