You're probibly thinking back to the CVS days... back then, you tagged a commit with N-V-R and thats what the buildsystem built from. So, once you did that if it failed, you had to bump release and commit and fix and tag that next N-V-R. When we moved to git we got the ability to retry unsuccessful builds with the same N-V-R until they worked. kevin
