Could you please post your /etc/sddm.conf and the contents of
your

I am still having problems to log in a KDE session, resulting in
a
login
loop.  The only way is to login to CLI a startplasma-wayland
there.
There is nothing in the journal, weston just simply quits.

/etc/sddm.conf attached (unchanged from the initial installation).
/etc/sddm.conf.d is empty.

Thanks.

All the entries in your sddm.conf are commented out.  Are you sure
it's right?

I'm sure it's the file installed by dnf:

$ rpm -V sddm
......G..    /run/sddm
.M.......    /var/lib/sddm
$

i.e. it hasn't been modified. IOW all the settings are just the
defaults listed in the file.

Thanks.
I'll test it as soon as I can reboot.

I tested your sddm.conf and unfortunately it has not solved the problem.

However, I did some troubleshooting and I found consistently occurring warnings that might have something to do with the login loop:

Here's the relevant journal:

kwin_wayland_drm: drmSetClientCap for Atomic Mode Setting failed. Using legacy mode on GPU KWin::DrmGpu(0x5630a892d700)\n"

kwin_wayland_drm: Page flip failed: Permission denied\nkwin_wayland_drm: Presentation failed! Permission denied\n"

When I try to use weston as a compositor, I see no login screen at all, just a blinking cursor in the upper left corner. There are no errors in journal, weston just quietly quits.

If anyone can deduce anything from this info, I would be grateful.

I have GTX1630 card, but I do not use NVIDIA proprietary drivers.

Thanks
Frank
