I see it now. However I was hoping to use this to allow two different
users each to have their own DE and switch between them. That doesn't
appear to be possible as the gear icon only appears on the initial
login screen, not on the Switch User screen.
Belay that last remark. I forgot to select the alternate user in order
to see the gear icon on the Switch screen. I've now succeeded in
running two different DEs on two virtual consoles.
OK....
You will also find that there will be no gear if the 2nd user is already "active".
