An annoying bug since upgrading to F31 has been various forms of "ICE Connection rejected!." I first saw it when I double clicked an image file in Dolphin. A pop-up told me about DCOP server not running (whatever that is, I thought). Then I noticed that similar errors occurred when opening other file types from Dolphin. And finally, I could not start ksensors any more due to the same error. This was reported a long time ago: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1768193 but remained unresolved. That was probably due to the confusion caused by the reporter's running stuff as root. But I found that the error goes away, if you unset XDG_RUNTIME_DIR. Apparently, some component involved in this error doesn't know to look in that directory for whatever it wants. Perhaps someone here can take this to a real fix. -- Garry T.
