At that time I remember I was able to resurrect plasma by manually locking the screen from konsole (with 'qdbus org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver /ScreenSaver Lock') and the unlock again. At a certain time I did not experienced this problem anymore so I never reported it. You can try my workaround to check if it's the same problem I had.
