Accelerated rendering on this combination remains completely unsupported,
though KWin 5.12 will support a software-only fallback and should thus at
least run on that driver:

I don't see this changing any time soon because both sides are insisting on
their idea of how the interaction should work and refusing to implement the
other side's API of choice.

I can also fully understand KWin's refusal to implement the EGLStreams API,
which no other driver uses and which is only supported by GNOME Shell /
Mutter at this time (only because the Red Hat Desktop Team is bending over
backwards to NVidia).
