I have no problem with that decision. I'm just saying it won't fulfil
my needs and I may not be alone in that, but I don't mean to start a
whole discussion about it.

On a positive note, there is this:
QtWebEngine - Support Chome Extension API

So it appears there is definitely interest in that direction...
