About a week ago, k3b-1:17.04.1-1 came out. Going by the
numbering, this is an older version (?), but it is presented
as an update to 2.0.3.

It does not update because of a missing freeworld and other
problems.

What is this new k3b? Does it reflect the new licensing, by
incorporating the codecs into the main package so that
freeworld has become obsolete? Or are we waiting for a
freeworld partner package?

wrong mailing-list

for "k3b-extras-freeworld" as all the other *-freeworld (freetype as example) complain at rpmfusion why they take that long to cope up with Fedora updates with their LD_LIBRARY hacks
