Hi there,
as Glenn is mentioning it, I also observed quite a few times within the
last month something like that, but wasn't able to trace down what
actually is consuming the x clients. As Rex said, it is often possible
to work arround when just closing a few windows.
When performing "xlsclients", Amarok does have "32" entries. Is this
okay? Not even closed/restarted it one time after the last reboot.
Same here:
xlsclients|grep amarok|wc -l
30
Best regards,
Florian

I've seen this message several times in the past week or two when trying
to start an X program. Logging out and back in again seems to fix it,
but what is causing it?
Some application(s) on your system are using up all X client connections
(the limit is ~256 if I recall).
When/if this happens, try quiting an app or closing a window or 2, then in a
konsole/terminal, try running:
xlsclients
It will tell you all X clients currently running (hopefully will help you
identify some culprit app)
