You also should give some of the native LXQt apps a try. Pcmanfm is really nice and lightweight. If you need advanced clipboard functionality, check out copyq. You will find the vast majority of kde apps work just fine.
Getting a bit off topic here but what do you use in LXQt for NetworkManager? Is there an alternative to nm-applet ?
