LXQt is an excellent solution for folks that want a Qt based environment that is light on resource consumption and don't need or want the razzle dazzle provided by plasma.  For that matter, since you can use KWin with LXQt you really get many of the niceties anyway.  Breeze, oxygen, etc. take your pick.  If you want to use Dolphin, you can, but I've grown to appreciate Pcmanfm-qt... and I've ditched klipper for copyq.  

Here is the bottom line about Plasma5 .... you can't have something which has freezing, display issues; let alone across multiple platforms - intel, nvidia, amd.  Six months should have been sufficient time.  If the explanation is "we were overwhelmed with other issues" then that says it wasn't ready for prime time.

I'm sure it will eventually be fixed, but probably after many people have moved on...
