Re: windows not preserved across sessions

The current default for the project is openbox, however from what I read the openbox project has not announced any plans to migrate to wayland... and there was a reddit thread that implied the openbox project was no longer under active development (which may or may not be correct).  I did try openbox, it seemed to work fine, but I went with kwin and disabled the desktop effects to speed it up.  I am familiar with kwin, it's under active development, and will support wayland.  

With the new requirements of KDE Frameworks and qt5 I wouldn't be surprised if LXQT changed their default to kwin in the future; especially if openbox isn't going the wayland route - but again, that is pure conjecture.  Haven't read anything about that.

I'm not seeing much documentation, e.g. which display manager to use. Is
there a preference?
