volume control buggy in 4.10.2

kmix is very buggy after updating to 4.10.2.

There's a lot of lag in touching the volume up/down controls, and after fiddling
a few times, now the plasma is stuck on the screen, and kmix is completely
unresponsive.  This is repeatable.

Don't know if these .xsession-errors are related:

void DBusMenuImporter::slotMenuAboutToShow(): Application did not answer to
AboutToShow() before timeout
void DBusMenuImporter::slotMenuAboutToShow(): Application did not answer to
AboutToShow() before timeout
void
DBusMenuImporter::slotAboutToShowDBusCallFinished(QDBusPendingCallWatcher*):
Call to AboutToShow() failed: "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include:
the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy
blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was
broken."
void
DBusMenuImporter::slotAboutToShowDBusCallFinished(QDBusPendingCallWatcher*):
Call to AboutToShow() failed: "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include:
the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy
blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was
broken."
