Running fully updated F18 system and this had been bugging me from time to time but I thought it was a problem with my aging mouse. Pardon me if I use the wrong technical terms....

On the systray there is a small triangle near the clock. If you mouse over it a pop-up displays "Show hidden icons". Clicking on it brings up a list. Now if your mouse cursor is all the way over to the left you can move the cursor up and down and each entry will be highlighted in turn. However, if your cursor is over to the right your mouse needs to be over at least one letter in the text for that entry to be highlighted. Seems to me that even moving the mouse over "empty" space should result in the entry being highlighted.

Worthy of a bugzilla? If so, what component?

widget-systemtray I believe.

I confirm the behaviour, no harm in creating a BZ and see what the devs say.
