After my F15 > experiences I felt that the forced KMail 2 was enough to put me > off F16, so if your experiences are good I may just change my > mind :-) > sure, I'll do that - feel free to ask me how it's going if I forget - here's a couple of observations after another 24 hours KMail continues to be a little sluggish One folder in particular seems to have real problems - it's called 'Probable spam' and it's where I filter Spambayes detected borderline spam cases for inspection and sorting - the message pane is still filled by that KMail 'bubble' theme with the "Retrieving folder contents - please wait" message. I'm considering simply blowing that folder away and recreating it, but, I'm taking things slowly this time - messages are set to expire after 30 days in that folder, and I'll probably wait and see if it clears up after being up for 30 days, which should cycle all current messages out of there - that might tell me whether it's a corrupt message base, or whether there's some strange thing going on with the folder. Other folders are mostly pretty snappy and display fairly quickly as I move around them, though not nearly as fast as Thunderbird which I'm running at the same time - it's definitely a lot better than when I first migrated to 47...
