The sooner you accept the fact that all software has bugs, the better.

Release early, release often and all that.

Now, it's part of *our* job as a distribution to integrate all that and
ship something with acceptable risk (QA, testing, yada yada).

Notice, we (fedora) have not shipped kde-4.6.0 in any official form,
largely due to the issues you point out.  The system is working as
intended, imo.
