Well, is the problem really fixed in F15? The report was on F14, but the 
libmtp change affects everything >= F14 including Rawhide. Did anybody 
actually test Amarok on Rawhide without libmtp-hal and hal?

The subpackage exists mainly to carry the Requires: hal, not because of the 
one file. Even if the file were in the main libmtp package, Amarok would 
still have to Requires: hal to work, at least in F14. With the libmtp-hal 
subpackage, no direct Requires: hal is needed because the subpackage takes 
care of dragging it in.
