not using KDE at all but gnome. Of all the K stack it's mostly kmail that 
works well for me. Except for this bit anywat. Kmail 1.13.5, aggregation is 
Activity By Date, Threaded, theme is default - Fancy with Clickable Status.

The Fedora folder is about 28K items, about as big as any. At year end I 
retire the last year's inbox and Fedora folder and some others of like size to 
a by-year listing and subsequently refer to them only once in a while.
