It's worth bearing in mind that final decisions have not yet been made, other 
than one important one.  KDE SC 4.5 will ship with KMail from 4.4.3.  There is 
certainly no need to panic.  The decisions are being made on grounds of 
security and user comfort.

At the moment it's not clear whether it will be easy, or even possible, to 
have parallel installations of KMail.  We can expect to hear more bout that as 
release time gets nearer.  A number of possibilities are being considered and 
evaluated.
