In the end I added a new Resource, pointing it to > the same file. I noticed this too. If you add an addressbook resource using the akonadi system settings panel, it does not show up in kontact. I found that I had to add the address book resource using kontact's "resource configuration" dialog (select 'akonadi', then select 'manage addressbook sources'). C
