Well, then it looks like you had to work around an ALSA bug. (For the
record, the link above is about disabling timer-based scheduling in
PulseAudio.) If you didn't have to do that with the kernel build which had
the newer ALSA (before it got reverted), then that's a regression from the
ALSA revert.
