Dunno, see options for
/usr/bin/livecd-iso-to-disk [--reset-mbr] [--noverify] 
[--overlay-size-mb <size>] [--home-size-mb <size>] [--unencrypted-home] 
<isopath> <usbstick device>

So apparently, you can specify separate sizes for overlay vs. home.

(haven't used this much myself)
