Hi folks, I'm Ankur, better known as "FranciscoD" in the Fedora community. I'm a community monkey that works with various teams, helping out when I can. I've been around the community for a while now. I'm a package maintainer and an ambassador primarily but I help out with quite a few other teams without "officially" being a part of them (marketing, testing, elections, irc-support ..,) I do know how to use a Linux system well. I stick to the terminal and can use bash/awk/python/c/c++/java/otherLanguageThatHasATutorial/ in general. I'm not much of a sys-admin though, since the only system I really administrate is my personal laptop. I've therefore, never used puppet or the like. I do know how to use webapps: I set up wordpress[1] and wikindx[2] on my personal hosting space recently; but that's hardly comparable to maintaining servers that run a multitude of critical applications. I'd like to step up and join the infra team. My interests are limited to askfedora[3] at the moment, where I'm a forum moderator. I've filed a few tickets[4][5] which could be classified as easyfixes. I'd like to take care of them myself if possible, and then help Ralph and the rest of the team in maintaining/updating/.. askfedora, to start with. I'd request someone to mentor me though. I'm really not confident enough to work on these by myself. (I rather think I might blow something up being a complete noob at sysadmin-ing!). I'd be most grateful if I could be added to the fi-apperentice group[6], and given a few instructions that would get me started with askfedora's staging instance[7]? My IRC handle is FranciscoD.
