Ok, so here's 'the plan' we're working on if you guys are cool with it.
Strip f.r.c out to only have:
/Download/mirrors/
/
The / will be a static page identical to the one on the wiki (instead
of redirecting the users to the page, we'll bring the page right too
them) If need be we will start removing things like graphics,
formatting, etc.
We'll stick the content on our two app servers, we'll enable caching
on our 4 proxy servers. We can use rpm.livina.com as an app server
and one of our xen boxes as an app server if need be (thanks Pix).
Once that's done, change f.r.c to point to the new IP address. Then
cross our fingers. Redirecting traffic to fp.o over the weekend is
out of the question. Seth is gone and that box is extremely
important, its not just the wiki but also our primary DNS and some
other services. What do you think?
