Hi, Chitlesh,

It took me a couple of hours between yesterday and today to find
and subscribe to the FEL mailing list. I was expecting to find
separate lists for Piklab and Ktechlab.
I created this message from scratch, so I don't know if it will
link to the others correctly...

I am using Fedora 11: from dmesg:
Linux version 2.6.30.10-105.fc11.i586
(mockbuild@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) (gcc version 4.4.1 20090725
(Red Hat 4.4.1-2) (GCC) ) #1 SMP Thu Dec 24 16:26:26 UTC 2009

I am running gnome, but I have the KDE libraries installed. Do
I actually need to be running in KDE to use these packages?
I don't know how that will affect other programs I have installed and in
use. I understand that KDE is a different desktop manager, and I do
know
that I can create profiles that will let me use either, but are there
issues to having both installed, and running both from the same account?
In
other words, how big is this can of worms?

I have both Ktechlab and piklab installed.

I am experiencing the same issues as g.

I had lots of personal stuff over the holidays, so I am just
getting back to this.

I can upgrade to F12 next week, but not before due to issues I
am currently working on.

For now I can download the FEL live CD and see if that fixes the
problems, providing I can use my current user account.

Do you and g believe this will fix the issues? I think missing
fonts, and library linkages would not normally
have OS updates as the solution, although it may be a way to incorporate
several issue solutions in a single shot, but I
would like to better understand the lower level connections so I can
move forward with documenting and fixing the ultimate
solution I need.

Regards,
Les H
