It seems to me that ds_newinst.pl takes a very long time, particularly in various DNS challenged environments. (I presume this is DNS, from earlier hints and because of the length of the timeout) As this should be an automated, scripted process in a tight reproducible testing environment, I'm trying to avoid it doing anything that would cause actual network packets. Is there anything else that could cause ds_newinst.pl to appear to hang? Is there a way to ensure it never does DNS queries?
