            Bug ID: 2260493
           Summary: Retiring perl-Test-Vars, needed by
                    perl-Test-Apocalypse
           Product: Fedora
           Version: rawhide
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
         Component: perl-Test-Apocalypse
          Severity: medium
          Assignee: ppisar@xxxxxxxxxx
          Reporter: paul@xxxxxxxxxxxx
        QA Contact: extras-qa@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
                CC: perl-devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, ppisar@xxxxxxxxxx
  Target Milestone: ---
    Classification: Fedora

The perl-Test-Vars package is FTBFS with Perl 5.38 and I intend to retire it
soon since there has been no activity on this upstream for many months and I
can't fix it myself.

The perl-Test-Apocalypse package pulls in Test::Vars as both a build-time and
run-time requirement. Back in the days of Perl 5.22 there was a similar issue
with Test::Vars (that eventually got fixed) and the approach taken then was to
drop the parts of perl-Test-Apocalypse that needed Test::Vars (Bug #1231903).
Perhaps that could be done again?

Alternatively, I can hand over the perl-Test-Vars package to you and you can
try to fix it/get it fixed yourself.

Please let me know your preference.

In the meantime I'm working to get the other dependants of perl-Test-Vars to
drop the dependency in Rawhide.

Reproducible: Always
