You can populate /var/lib/cloud/ using whatever mechanism you want, and
cloud-init can consume that directly, skipping the data-get process.


but is there anyway to get it there by attaching something to the VM?
i.e., can the data-get process get it from a disk/iso/floppy attached to the VM?
