I'll add a note of that to the config.txt, that you need
"start_file=start_x.elf" to end up with a working camera. 

Actually Jugen, if you have a spare half hour and a spare SDCARD, can
you join Adrian and give the tires of that "test" xfce "spin" a kick.

It's good that you are using vcgencmd. Give that some use too! It's now
built from source on the xfce image using Fedora compile options. (On
the Minimal image was still following the Pidora way of doing things,
using the pre-compiled binaries from RPi firmware git.) So a little
testing in that area would be good! ;)
