Whoever or whatever reminded you of that is wrong. There is no V.32
modem in spandsp.

have a fully functional fax gateway with a GUI that can send and

But now it retrospect, I think he is talking fxo functionality, not
fxs. Worth a try. Once I get to it. But I do remember, back in '07
running with a couple clone wildcards and spandsp. Finally got a real
digium fxs/fxo pci card.
He's talking about FAX. spandsp provides a lot of FAX facilities,
including FAX modems. It doesn't provide V.32 modems.
