But all the other distributions seem to > be quite happy to do the same in the interest of shiny shiny :) Ultimately whether it's preferred or not we need to be able to support it on RH platforms that those that wish to use it so getting this issue resolved in an upstreamable way which won't constantly break is worthwhile even if just for sanity. We have a few packages that block on this due to the problems with the triplet one of which is the hfs support for Mac filesystems.
