 Links in the overview are effectively web bookmarks that ship with the OS.
 While they annoy me to an extent when I buy a new computer, I can quickly
 and easily delete them and move on.  As long as that is possible then
 these links are not necessarily a problem ''per se'', but we have to be
 consistent:  if one package can ship web bookmarks or other functional
 equivalents, all of them can.

 The software installer is a little different because it handles things
 that are installed ''and'' things that are not.  The third party
 repository rules that Rex mentioned earlier seem relevant to that because
 it involves people choosing what software they want to see.
