#182: GNOME 3.12 pushes Google and other commercial, non-FOSS "apps" at users ----------------------------+----------------------- Reporter: sparks | Owner: somebody Type: defect | Status: new Priority: major | Milestone: Component: Fedora Project | Resolution: Keywords: | Blocked By: Blocking: | ----------------------------+----------------------- Comment (by gholms): Links in the overview are effectively web bookmarks that ship with the OS. While they annoy me to an extent when I buy a new computer, I can quickly and easily delete them and move on. As long as that is possible then these links are not necessarily a problem ''per se'', but we have to be consistent: if one package can ship web bookmarks or other functional equivalents, all of them can. The software installer is a little different because it handles things that are installed ''and'' things that are not. The third party repository rules that Rex mentioned earlier seem relevant to that because it involves people choosing what software they want to see. -- Ticket URL: <https://fedorahosted.org/board/ticket/182#comment:6> Fedora Board issue tracker <http://fedorahosted.org/board> Issue tracking for the Fedora Board _______________________________________________ advisory-board mailing list advisory-board@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/advisory-board
