The Fedora Board will be holding a public IRC meeting today at 16:00 UTC (Noon EDT) in #fedora-board-meeting on the Freenode IRC network. Details on our IRC meetings can be found at http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Board/IRC. The topic for today's meeting is a proposal that came out of last week's Board meeting[1] regarding trademark approval for Fedora spins. The proposal as it currently stands is to abolish the current media handout requirements in favor of a checklist system. Essentially, in order to get trademark approval for a spin, you'd simply get a public approval from a number of groups (Spins SIG, Design Team, QA, and Release Engineering initially), and submit those in a ticket to the Board for trademark approval. Instead of having the Board determine the criteria, each of those groups should be able to determine their own individual requirements for Spin approval. We welcome your input in our Board meeting today and hope you'll help us to work out the details and come up with something that is more transparent and streamlined than our current system. -- Jared Smith Fedora Project Leader [1] https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Meeting:Board_meeting_2011-04-05 _______________________________________________ advisory-board mailing list advisory-board@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/advisory-board
