Although in LATAM there isn't a consensus what the focus of a FUDCon should be, it seems that the majority agree that we need a stronger event in the region. One of ways to achieve that is to enable future FUDCon organizers to attend to a FUDCon before organizing one. We weren't able to do that for FUDCon Panama, but we got some Latin Americans into FUDCon Tempe. Those folks now have a lot of experiences to share and help the Panamanian organizational team. In addition, we already identified at least one potential organizer for FUDCon LATAM in 2012 and we are funding him to go to Panama since he has never been in a FUDCon before. IMHO we don't need a worldwide unique FUDCon event. Identifying key long term contributors from around the world and help them to know more about how to organize a good FUDCon event in their regions might be a wiser way to use our resources. I also would like to invite everyone to attend to the "Future of FUDCons in LATAM" hackfest at FUDCon Panama!
