I was going to say, open a bugzilla against it, but I see you have.
There are several against it.[1]
I also see that it hasn't been touched for three years, not just the
EPEL, but Fedora also.
There is also a recent CVE against it, maybe that will get something to change.
I've noticed that the bugzilla's have been assigned to Steve Jenkins.
But I also notice that many of the changes (three years ago) were also
done by Adam Williamson. Maybe contacting him will get the ball
rolling.
