RE: Can't get 100/full duplex with bcm5700...

I had the same problem in a Compaq DL360 Generation 2 with the Tigon3 NIC. I would suggest using the ethtool to switch the port to full duplex. If you do a modinfo on the bcm5700 you will see it does not support the full_duplex=1 modules.conf setting.

Subject: Can't get 100/full duplex with bcm5700...

Hi...

I'm running RH AS 2.1 on a DELL 2650 with bcm5700 driver. On boot
(w./out any module config), I get the following in /var/log/messages:

May 22 17:08:58 systemname kernel: bcm5700: eth0 NIC Link is UP, 100
Mbps half duplex

The switch port on the other end is set to 100MB Full duplex.

I put the following in /etc/modules.conf and rebooted. Doing that
causes the card to not come up at all (i.e. eth0: link is down).

alias eth0 bcm5700
options eth0 line_speed=100 full_duplex=1

Is there something I'm missing? Thanks....
