> I'm trying to follow you here and what happens when you reboot from f17b32 into f18b32 wont f18b32 get f17b32 hostname from that setup? Each system sends its own hostname (propagated statically, ahead of time, as DHCP_CLIENT_ID in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-*) when each system issues the DHCPREQUEST. The DHCP server (dnsmasq on DD-WRT) honors the client request (either sending back the same hostname as was requested, or not sending back any hostname at all) and updates the DNS tables. So it doesn't matter what the hostname used to be. The /etc/sysconfig/network:HOSTNAME= is propagated statically to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-*, and then dynamically to DNS via DHCPREQUEST+DHCPACK. -- _______________________________________________ Anaconda-devel-list mailing list Anaconda-devel-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/anaconda-devel-list
