The year is 2010. reiserfs was marked as unsupported with this commit:

as per kernel team orders, turning off support for reiserfs
We've always taken the stance that we've got support, but we don't care
about any bug reports related to it. Either we support something, or we
don't. Should we keep pretending a little longer than nine years?
