As you know, we have quite some issues with network during installation on s390, which are hardly possible to track down without any kind of syslog facility in initrd.img since NM messages only go to /dev/null. I understand that rsyslog is a post rhel6 thing in general. Would a standalone binary written in C, that resembles init.c's syslog part, be an alternative?
