i'd have to agree, the updates repo is a very sensible feature to have during the install.  F10 worked very well with it.

We've had this checkbox for as long as we've had the multiple repo
support in anaconda, and it's not been targeted for removal despite all
the back-and-forth on the Rawhide repo being visible on releases.
