Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong combination. We have lots of HP
Proliant hardware without the Advanced ILO license. This means they can
only do text remote console; no VGA, no text with fb. Because of this,
we've generalized our install process to include "nofb" across the board
(except for workstation installs which use full GUI).
I believe nofb and vnc are mutually exclusive, correct? Or is it that
VNC and local console are mutually exclusive? I haven't really messed
with VNC that much because of perceived limitations.
