You might want to consider building the whole thing in a chroot. It tends
to make everything run a lot smoother than building locally on your
system.

I get the same error when building Anaconda 9.1.6.7 (U6 beta). Is this
happening because RHEL 3 is not built on RHEL 3, so an older gcc is
being used by Red Hat? Maybe the newer gcc in RHEL 3 shows this error
but the Red Hat build system for RHEL 3 does not?
Sorry to answer my own post, I narrowed this down to the fact that my
build host has a /usr/bin/gcc shell script due to Oracle crap. This
script was exec'ing gcc323 and it appears it doesn't work all the
time :(
I've successfully build Anaconda with the wrapper script removed. Doh!
