This is interesting work. I think I've heard of Scientific Linux before. Very cool. We've been working on technology that allows people to build customized OS images as well. We've integrated this all in a web service that we're calling "rBuilder Online". We've opened the site to public beta testing, but we have not made any announcements drawing attention to it. rBuilder Online is at http://www.rpath.org/. Keep in mind that we're still shaking out bugs and making enhancements to the site. Anyone that has been building a customized Linux distribution by hand should have a look.
