Automatic partitioning failed allocation errors

I'm getting a report of a problem very similar to
<https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=129528>
and
<https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=140433>
in my RHEL4 U1-based anaconda.

I've got a lot of patches, including some that mess with autopartitioning,
so it's very likely I screwed something up. I can't reproduce on *my* test
systems, though, so I'm stretching for clues. Bug #129528 is noted to be a
dupe of #131325, to which unfortunately I don't have permissions. (Could the
secrecy on that be relaxed?) And #140433 is reportedly fixed, but the
explanation is just that it was fixed, with no helpful details.

Apparently happens with autopartitioning, but works with manually
partitioning, but when the config generated by that manual partitioning is
used in a kickstart script, that fails again.

Any clues?
