abort install/upgrade from kickstart %pre script

Hi all -
   Is there a way to force an install/upgrade to abort from within the 
kickstart %pre script?

I have a script that looks around to see if the activity is approriate, 
and if not, i want to abort.   I tried passing back non-zero and that 
doesnt seem to do it.   Any thoughts?
