Chan,

I can think of two hardware issues that could cause your problems.  One,
your CD Recorder device is multi-read by its very nature.  Some older
CD-ROM devices are not multi-read devices in that they can read a CD-R
but cannot read a CD-R/W disk.  The device must be multi-read before it
can boot from a CD-R/W as I recall.  Two, check your burn speed.  Let's
say your CD Recorder can read/write at 40X and let's say that your
CD-ROM is older and can only read at 4X.  If you burn a CD-R/W disc at
10x or a CD-R at 30X, your older CD-ROM drive may not be able to read
it.  It sounds like you are having physical drive issues and the rest of
your process is to create a bootable disc is ok.  I proposed these
options from my own experience.  ;-)
