Hi,
For creating a custom Fedora Core 1 distrinbution, is it necessary to
have fedora core 1 installed.
I have Redhat 9.0 on my machine. Can I use it as the environment to create
my custom fedora cd. Will the
utilities from redhat 9.0, anaconda-runtime etc, be compatible with FC1
distribution ?
Mmmm - it is *preferable* that you rebuild the distribution on the same
version as the one you want to rebuild. You *can* rebuild anaconda in a
chroot environment but it can be tricky if you don't know what you're
doing. (only dirty sailor mouths should attempt it ;))
I am not sure that the anaconda-runtime goodies would be compatible
between rh9 and fedora core 1. Then again, if you only want to
add/remove/update rpms on the cds, you only really need to run
'genhdlist', so you could give it a try ...
Can anyone confirm that I am wrong?
