network install excessively interactive

I'm doing a Fedora install at the moment (FTP over my LAN from the 3
downloaded iso images copied into a directory tree).

A number of times I've had the install pause with a pop-up box

        The package SOME-NAME-HERE
cannot be opened. This is due to a missing
file or perhaps a corrupt package. If you
are installing from CD media this usually
means the CD media is corrupt, or the CD
drive is unable to read the media.

        Press <return> to try again.

And when I press return once (or maybe twice) it works. In other words
it looks like an intermittent network problem.

Now why can't this retry a decent number of times (like 10) by itself ?

And if it does have a problem and needs help getting some packages why
can't it wait to the end to say so for all affected packages at once ?
This MS-like "pointless click OK" turns a 3-hour unattended install into
a 3-hour attended install. Boo hiss.
